Revolutionary War Powder Horn. Carried by huntsman, soldier and explorer alike, the powder horn is an original american art form. Early in april, 1775 word was passed on to the british.
The rifleman carried his firelock, hunting pouch, and a horn to carry the gunpowder. Powder horns and flasks have been in use since the early 15thcentury to carry the black powder necessary in the use of firearms. This rare horn belongs to a group of horns collectively referred to as “roxbury horns”.
