There are two potential problems with water slide decals adhering. But always test a sample of your clear paint with a sample decal first. While this topic is fresh, can anyone state whether or not clear powder coat can be applied over decals?

I thought about making the tank and wet sanding through the clear coat to the decal and trying to peel it off. In running tests over decals, custom paint finishes and pinstriping with powder coated clear coats, some of the decals and colors literally changed colors when powder coated and baked in the oven.

My suspicion is that the decals would not survive the baking process. I find that interesting about people having problems with decals not staying on a powder coated surface. Whether needed to withstand the heat of a powder clear coat after application or use on a barbeque grill, temperature is no longer an issue.

But Always Test A Sample Of Your Clear Paint With A Sample Decal First.
